Raw comedy finals went well. I won. Hosted by Adam Hills and Des Bishop. Here’s what the The Age had to say:
Raw Pom gets the last laugh
“A NEW generation of comedians was revealed last night at the final of the Raw Comedy quest. After just three years in Melbourne, an emerging star, Englishman Neil Sinclair, won a trip to the world’s biggest cultural festival in Edinburgh. “I’m going to be an Englishman, representing Australia, in Scotland!” he roared, as the crowd clapped their approval. Eleven comics and a duo of brothers performed in front of a capacity crowd at the Melbourne Town Hall. Competitions held across the nation helped reduce the field of finalists, who performed in front of judges including Irish comic Des Bishop and Melbourne International Comedy Festival director Susan Provan. Sinclair, 29, thanked his girlfriend and workmates after accepting the trophy from Adam Hills. Previous winners of the award include Damian Callinan, Anthony Menchetti and Chris Franklin. On Saturday night South Australian Kevin Kropinyeri won the second annual Deadly Funny comedy competition for indigenous comedians.”
